Network Solutions Culture

Throughout all that we do, we focus on our small business customers. But long before we were able to do that, we realized that in order to be able to truly serve our customers best, we needed to recruit, retain, train, and value the top-notch talent to make it happen. After all, without qualified employees who care about the company’s mission and purpose – not to mention its customers – fulfilling even the smallest of goals can prove impossible.

That’s why our employees are our most important resource.

And many of them have been with the company through its transformation from small business to industry leader. Some of our employees remember processing domain name registrations by hand, well before our monthly registration totals reached 50,000 names. Others joined the company in more recent years, bringing fresh insight and skills to our capabilities and initiatives. Learning by our experiences – and being able to share them – enables us to better support and help our small business customers.

For all of these reasons, Network Solutions® values education, not merely coursework. We support education through Network Solutions University, tuition reimbursement, and other professional development opportunities.

Of course, education also involves a willingness to listen. The management team listens to what employees have to say about what is important to them, their job satisfaction, and how we should change things to better serve our customers.

Every employee is empowered to provide input regarding how we help our customers, how we develop our business, and how we evolve our company. Tremendous efforts are made to ensure a variety of voices across all disciplines are heard at the top and throughout the organization.

  • We leverage internal wikis to foster communication across multiple levels within the company.
  • A wide range of topics are discussed on our internal employee blog. Recent posts include social media trends, mobile search engine optimization, new product releases, and industry news.
  • Our CEO regularly hosts monthly roundtable discussions where employees at all levels from the front lines through senior managers can be heard.
  • Departmental meetings reserve time each week to brainstorm critical customer impacting topics; employees at all levels share thoughts and contribute to problem solving.
  • Task teams and action plans are developed in response to our annual employee satisfaction survey so we can understand employee needs and motivation in order to retain top talent.
  • On an ongoing basis, we ask employees how best to portray our company to the world. If you’ve spent any time checking out this Web site, then you’ve seen the results of our employees’ input.

Our employee “Perks” program is anchored by our ultra popular “Summer Hours.” This program enables our employees to spend quality time with family and friends via an early afternoon dismissal on alternate Fridays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. The company also recognizes that people have lives and interests outside of the workplace. So we distribute discounts on movie theater and theme park tickets, computer hardware and software, and wireless communications services. We also offer employee referral bonuses.

Annual employee family picnics, holiday parties, and departmental team building activities offer employees the chance to socialize and get to know one another outside the confines of the conference room. . . but sometimes, free food can do the same. So, we host free Friday breakfasts in our break rooms with gourmet coffees, teas, hot chocolate, soda, and an assortment of muffins and bagels.

Our Workplace

Respect for one another is something we work hard to cultivate at Network Solutions. Placing importance on respect and diversity radiates outward from our CEO’s office to work locations across the country and in Argentina.

Our attire is corporate casual, although we do recognize when it’s appropriate to pull out the suit. We’ve traded ties for button downs and pumps and wing tips for sandals and sneakers.

To get to the office we drive, carpool, use mass transit, bicycle, and walk.

Our Belleville office has a culture committee, which was formed to ensure that our company remains one of the best places to work in the St. Louis area. All offices schedule team building activities.

One of our signature events in Herndon is an annual spring golf tournament which offers employees a chance to start the day socializing on the greens with fellow workers and vendor partners before heading to the office.
