Network Solutions Corporate Philanthropy

The goal of the corporate philanthropy program at Network Solutions® is to improve the communities where we work, live, and play. We do this by getting involved; by volunteering our time; and by sharing our intellectual capital, tools, and financial resources with a variety of non-profit organizations. Through the years, we’ve raised funds, run races, loaded boxes, donated items, wrapped toys, served food, given blood, collected trash, taught classes, swept floors, shared hugs, made friends, and more. No matter the activity, we hope our contributions help enable each organization to achieve its mission and to make an even greater impact on the communities they serve.

Each Network Solutions office is empowered to choose and support local initiatives in its community. Here are some of the ways we get involved.

Company-wide

Network Solutions supports the United Way and National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). Through these two nonprofit organizations, we are able to create a greater impact on the communities they serve throughout North America, as well as globally.

Belleville Office

Neighbors for Renewal (NFR) is a non-profit corporation that purchases houses in severe disrepair, then restores them using volunteer labor; making them available at a significantly reduced price to working families whose income falls within established program guidelines. Belleville employees began volunteering for NFR in January 2007 and continuously help out on projects.

Pig Money Donation – the Belleville Team has added a twist to the “afternoon snack attack” concept, encouraging employees to choose healthy snack items and to donate the money to a good cause. The money for the health snack alternatives is placed in a Purple Pig. At the end of each year, the “pig money” is donated to a charity that employees choose through an office-wide vote. The charity receiving the most votes is awarded the full donation amount from the pig. In 2006 the recipient was Bark Rescue; in 2007, the money was donated to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children); and in 2008 the contributions went to The Ronald McDonald House.

Community Food Pantry – each year during the holidays, the Belleville office hosts food drives for local community food pantries. In 2007 over 800 items were collected and in 2008 over 1,200 were collected!

Adopt-A-Family – working through the St. Louis Family Support Network, the Belleville Team adopts families during the holidays in order to provide them with gifts and good cheer. In 2008, the office adopted three families (including 10 children) in the St. Louis area, delivering over 80 wrapped items.

Blood Drive – it is the gift of life, so twice a year, the Belleville crew hosts a blood drive to support local blood banks. In 2008, 93 lives were saved due to the donations given by Belleville employees.

Community Home for Children – in 2008 employees spent 36 hours visiting with the children at the St Vincent Home playing games, baking cupcakes, and having fun.

Local Animal Shelter – employees volunteered time at the Belleville Humane Society helping to prepare the shelter for an afternoon visit for 80 local school children.

Hazleton Office

American Cancer Society – Hazleton employees have assisted this organization for more than three years, helping with their daffodil sale; staffing phones during the telethon; and participating and fundraising in the annual “Relay for Life” walkathon event.

Hazleton Chamber of Commerce – Network Solutions is a charter member of the local Chamber of Commerce. With the Chamber’s assistance, Hazleton employees have participated in the “Great PA Clean-up” to rid area roads of litter and debris and joined the “Community Reading Day” to share a love of books and learning at local schools.

Helping Hands – for over three years employees have helped with a holiday gift wrapping event at a local shopping mall and assisted with their golf outing.

American Lung Association® – the team sponsored and participated in the Asthma Walk in May 2008.

Volunteer Center of Greater Hazleton, Inc. – the Hazleton employees organize an annual golf outing to raise money for the center. The office’s Operations Manager was recently named President of the Board.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand – employees set up a stand over the past two summers and raised over $1,100 to combat childhood cancer.

Saint Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen – the team organized a recent Valentine’s Day fundraiser which resulted in a donation of $380 to support the soup kitchen.

Operation “CAN DO” – employees donated goods and care packages for troops stationed in Iraq.

WNEP Feed-A-Friend Food Drive – employees donate non-perishable food items at Thanksgiving for underprivileged families in the area.

Saint Luke’s Manor – employees have volunteered at this assisted living facility for more than three years, visiting residents twice a month and helping with the center’s various activities, such as holiday parties and Bingo.

Rails- to-Trails Conservancy – volunteers clean up litter around area parks and surrounding roads – clearing brush, trimming branches, and building outdoor fitness stations around the trail.

Herndon Office

greater-dc-cares Network Solutions’ Herndon office has partnered with Greater DC Cares to participate in local philanthropic initiatives. Through this relationship, we have been able to make a difference in our local community:

  • Helping plant more than 100 seedlings to improve and restore an existing storm water pond
  • Packing emergency food boxes, and sorting and stocking food at a local food bank
  • Prepping a fence for painting, putting a fresh coat of paint on three barns, as well as cleaning tack and grooming horses for a organization that provides equine assisted activities for children and adults with disabilities, youth-at-risk, veterans, and their families

In addition, the Herndon office actively participates in a collection initiative during the holidays to improve the lives of residents of Fairfax County.

Argentina Office

The Argentina office recently implemented local philanthropic initiatives, such as:

  • Collecting school supplies

They look forward to expanding their projects throughout the year.
